Here is a picture of my two roommates, Jason and Keela. This was taken at Keela's going away party at Epstein's bar in the lower east side. Keela is leaving us at the end of the month and going back home to Boston to be closer to her family. She has lived in NYC for 12 years now and has loved every minute of it, but feels now that it's time to go home. I'm sure I will be able to relate to that at some point, but instead right now I am doing the opposite. Anyways, I didn't know that Keela would be moving when I decided to take the apartment in December, so when I moved in 3 weeks ago and learned that she would be moving out, I was really bummed. I've only known all three of my roommates for 3 weeks now, but they have all been incredibly kind to me and have made not only my NYC experience amazing so far (always helping me navigate the subways, suggesting places to eat, places to get my clothes drycleaned, places to shop, etc..) but have made my experience living with roommates for the first time a good one as well. We will certainly all miss Keela, but know that this move will be good for her. Home is always where the heart is no matter how far away you are. ;-)
